Wales Attractions

From beautiful parks and gardens around the city to a wealth of cultural attractions including the National Waterfront Museum, you'll find plenty to entertain you in Swansea Bay.

Visit one of our fantastic beaches for a rock-pooling and sandcastle building session with the kids, or just to enjoy the feel of the golden sand beneath your feet and the amazing views on offer!

Go for a ride on the Swansea Bay Rider, a land train which runs along the sweep of Swansea Bay during the holidays. It's the easy way to get from Blackpill Lido to Mumbles for a delicious icecream. Why not visit Oystermouth Castle, just one of the many castles in Swansea Bay.

Oystermouth Castle

This is the Gower Peninsula's finest castle, standing on a small hill with a magnificent view over Swansea Bay in the resort town of Mumbles. It is well-preserved, intricate and exciting to explore.
This has everything a castle enthusiast could want; towers battlements, winding stairs, gloomy passages and haunted dungeons.

National Waterfront Museum

The National Waterfront Museum is a £30.8 million landmark building with fantastic views over Swansea's Marina. Stunning slate and glass architecture combine harmoniously with the historic quayside warehouse. Internal features and facilities were designed to the highest specifications to provide a home for the national treasures that tell Wales's story of industry and innovation.

The Chocolate Factory

Swansea’s very own Chocolate Factory has recently won Wales Tourist Board recognition, following a rigorous assessment from an inspector from the Visitor Attraction Quality Assurance Service. As a Quality Assured Visitor Attraction The Chocolate Factory meets certain criteria laid down by the Wales Tourist Board.

Grand Theatre

Opened 104 years ago, Swansea's Victorian period pleasuredome, is amongst the largest provincial theatres in the U.K. With three bars, a restaurant, rooftop cafe-bar, arts wing and "the Depot" - a second performance stage specialising in comedy - it's one of the city's most prestigious theatres. Just watch out for Dame Adelina Patti's ghost, though!

Swansea Vale Railway

This historical steam railway has recently been restored by volunteers to provide a comprehensive summer timetable. The mile and a half service operates just three miles from the route of Swansea's "Mumbles Train" - the world's first passenger carrying railway.
