Wales Pubs & Restaurants

Swansea is a big city and has a number of great eating out places. Most of the best ones are congregated at the centre of the city – everything from Chinese to Indian. If however you’re after a good English meal then try many of the bars and pubs. There are plenty of bakeries and sandwich shops for lunch on the go. Alternatively try the usual fast food outlets. All are fairly accessible and within easy reach of each other.

Pubs

Eli Jenkins’ Ale House

Eli Jenkins’ Ale House takes its name from one of the characters of local lad Dylan Thomas. It is a large modern pub with plenty of quiet corners to sit and chat. Good bar meals are served, and are complemented by a frequently changing selection of cask ales.

The Bank Statement

The Bank Statement is set in a handsome Victorian building that was previously a bank, in the heart of Swansea’s city centre. It is a popular pub, thanks in part to its central location and also its good range of bar meals and more adventurous dishes.

The Queen’s Hotel

Located in Swansea’s Maritime Quarter, the Queen’s Hotel is an attractive pub with high ceilings, and attracts a wide range of clientele – in part for the good cask ales offered and also for its reasonably priced food.
